The One Month Boyfriend by Roxie Noir

Book Review

Evan Meckler is about to have a reckoning.

Kat Nakamura was left at the altar. Silas Flynn wants payback. They have a common enemy. All that is left is for them to band together to destroy one man using his own games.

They created an itinerary, along with a set of rules with the understanding that Silas and Kat would date for one month while Evan is in town. While many of the outings end successfully, Kat and Silas slowly begin to enjoy their dates. Their personalities complement the other as their mental health is tested. As the days turn to night, Kat begins to want more than the rules allow while Silas slowly begins to show his vulnerability. They seem to be a perfect match. But when the mission is accomplished, will they still be together?

This is an excellent story. Silas and Kat have two separate distinct personalities. They will end up being the best of friends or complete enemies. Neither expected to find the love they had been seeking. It’s not often a book builds the suspense methodically and with great thought. For the hero and heroine to understand is unique. For a nurse to not recognize a crisis but only to respond to injury struck me odd.

Roxie Noir did an excellent job portraying the mental health issues. From panic attacks to PTSD, none of the characters are defined solely by their diagnosis. This, in itself, warrants a 5 Star rating because many times fictional characters end up in a stereotyped mantra that doesn’t define the entire persona.

I received this book as an advance review copy free from Social Butterfly PR. I have read and reviewed this book voluntarily.
